(OIC) announced a strategic liaison agreement with the Industrial Internet Consortium® (IIC) to share information that will help streamline interoperability for the Internet of Things (IoT). This technical collaborative between the IoT consortiums will help to accelerate the delivery of an industrial grade IoT architectural framework.

Now standard on more of today’s most popular vehicles and smartphones, MirrorLink is the most ingenious way to bring smartphone content to the dash. Huge icons make apps easy to use and smart technology knows if the car is in Park or Drive. The Touran will be available in Europe in Q2 2015.

The Dynamic Spectrum Alliance (DSA) welcomes Ofcom’s decision to implement TV white space regulations, enabling access to the unused arts of radio spectrum in the 470 to 790 MHz frequency band. This follows Industry Canada’s recent release of its TV white space regulations for rural and near-urban internet access and signifies a real milestone for dynamic spectrum access across the world, highlighting its growing momentum.

Continua today announced the organization has expanded its global resources to support the testing and certification of Continua-ready personal connected health technologies, with the addition of four new Certified Continua Experts (CCE) and three new test laboratories in Asia.

The Open Interconnect Consortium has issued a reference implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT) standard it hopes will unify creators of connected devices and applications.
The reference implementation, called IoTivity, can be used by device makers and application creators as a starting point to build products and services that are compliant with the standard backed by the Open Interconnect Consortium (OIC) and interoperable across other OIC standard-compliant products and services.

The 2016 Volt on the stand at NAIAS this week has an in-car entertainment system that includes support for both CarPlay and MirrorLink; both systems appear as options in the vehicle’s Settings menu. Android Auto is missing, but there’s plenty of time to add it — the Volt won’t be on the road until the middle of this year.

The HDBaseT Alliance, the cross-industry group tasked with promoting and advancing HDBaseT standard, and IEEE, the world’s largest professional organization advancing technology for humanity, today announced the HDBaseT  Specifications 1.1.0 and 2.0 have been approved by the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) Standards Board for adoption as part of the organization’s standard portfolio.

The Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP) and Power Matters Alliance (PMA) today announced the organizations have signed a Letter of Intent to merge and establish an organization that will accelerate the availability and deployment of wireless charging technology on a global scale. The A4WP and PMA, leaders in wireless charging technology, have agreed in principal to the terms of the merger that is expected to close by mid-2015. The merger caps a productive year between the two organizations that announced a separate collaboration agreement in February, 2014.
